THIS IS AMERICAN HISTORY….When you digest this song & its reality you can not question why the Black Power Movement was inevitable.

Listening to this always stirs tears in my eyes, compassion/renewed understanding of my father and his family who grew up in Mississippi in the 50s, fury in my soul, and deep seeded allegiance to freedom and this thing we call ‘the movement’ ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

This speech was the major point in Martin Luther’s King movement work, it marked his expansion beyond his traditional southern civil rights work and moved him beyond what the CIA considered safe. Martin was murdered exactly one year to date after this speech.

White People & Everyone Take Note THIS IS HOW WHITE PEOPLE FIGHT RACISM Rt On!

I discovered this a few years ago & Loved It… I believe my brotha Russell put me on it and I remember us just sitting watching and applauding this work for its approach and its mission to really transform people thru understanding on a very personal and human level.

It is a testament that we must understand to have compassion. Most White people know racism is wrong but they can never fully understand the story of ‘people of color’ because they have not walked it. As a result some White people run from their Whiteness because it is a daunting embarrassing and once White people are able to dissect it on a human, social, spiritual and/or intellectual level they can sometimes want no association with that type of Whiteness.  But that is not the answer. That to me has always been a way of avoidance or closing your eyes to your own White privilege, something you can not wish away, pray away, or overstand away.

We can all know, acknowledge and begin to operate from the mind state/frequency that race is factually an invented concept and yes that is a huge step HOWEVER we also live in a tangible physical world that is permeated with unconscious and subconscious privileges and constructs based on this notion of race and that must be dealt with.

In my time in social justice movement I have had some pretty fly White comrades who get it, face it and use their unique understanding and position to go talk to other White people and work with them on getting it.  I applaud those who do.  Those who truly get it work on it daily, acknowledge it, and do not try to ignore it, supercede it or just blend in with the Black Liberation/social justice movements.

From the Bottom of My Heart and Freedom Loving Self I SHOUT

THANK U!!!!

HOW RACIST ARE YOU? (part 1)

These 30 people have never met. By the days end, they may wish they never had. For one long day they’ll be at the mercy of The Bitch, a retired American teacher. Some would say she calls herself this way for good reason. For 40 years Jane Elliott (A Class Divided) has been running an exercise that has ignited controversy around the world. She says it lays bare the hidden truth about racism in white societies.

This video is in response to the anon who asked the below question.

What does it mean to be black? Do you feel, personally (if you’re black) that every race is, in general, racist against you? Share with me some informative links. I want to learn, please.

Racism is a social construct created to maintain the social dominance of A particular group. Racism became the norm to justify slavery and colonialism. It is still very rampant today. I will go into this in more detail in my answer.

I am currently writing a in-depth answer to these questions. Followers submit your own answers state your Location & your experience.
